Wildflower Road; Writers Read Post #11
I love to use my blog to talk about some of the books I’m reading and I’m extra excited to recommend Wildflower Road by Janine Rosche.
Wildflower Road is the second in the Madison River Romance series by Janine Rosche. It comes out tomorrow (Oct. 13). If you haven't read the first book yet, don’t stress. They can be taken out of order. Or, just buy both and read them one after another.
Rosche's debut novel, This Wandering Heart, was so excellent I was afraid I wouldn't love this one as much. I was thrilled to be proven wrong. (Click here for my review of This Wandering Heart)
The Story:
Ryann Marie Ashcroft, a young widow, wasn't looking for love when a brooding, handsome man takes a job as the new chef at their mountain resort. And Shane Olsen has chosen this remote Montana town because he's running from a past he hopes his new employer doesn't know about yet.

This is a story of redemption and hope. It's 100% a Christian romance, but it's not all sunshine and roses. Often times, Christian romance books are just an escape but Wildflower Road (and This Wandering Heart) deal with some tough themes which makes the redemption so much more sweet and real. Also, you'll want to move to their family resort. Seriously, you'll google it hoping it's a real place and check Kayak for plane tickets to Montana -that's how well Rosche describes the setting.

I always hesitate to mention if I know the author when I’m recommending a book. But then, I get too excited and mention it anyway. But here’s the thing: the authors I know write some really great books. And I read a lot of books, so I know when a book is great.
I met Janine at my very first writers conference. It was a small conference and I heard her talking across the table at lunch about a ministry called Young Life. I told her my husband was a Young Life leader and, sure enough, she knew him. They had worked at a camp together and Janine and I had been to many of the same weddings. We roomed together at the next conference and I had a front row seat as she pitched this series to a number of professionals, one of which became her agent. There was nothing like the feeling of walking into my neighborhood Meijer and picking up a copy of her book because I had an inkling of what it took to get that book on the shelf. Read it. I know you’ll love it.
